Petit cakes

Macaroon, Mont Blanc, Eclairs, Scon..., aah heave...

Thanks to Chris (our house mate) for bringing those little treasures back.

Those petit ones are so cute and the small cakes look bit more sophisticated than the big ones. Of course, the big ones are nice as well though;)

Aah, what a happy way to end my always-tough monday...

Pisang Goreng

Today's lunch was one of my favourite snack in Malaysia, Pisang Goreng! This crispy fried bananas are so addictive and good energy source for the rest of the day. But what makes me go back there every so often is this lady, who make these deep fried cannot-stop addiction...

She is just wonderful. She always gives me a few extras. She definitely knows how to keep a greedy monkey...;)

Leftover hard rock cakes

Whiteorangecreamcheese...
Racheal brought us suger supply at work. Those were the ones that unfortunately (to me fortunately) left by the monkeys who care about their calorie intake, so of course, I volunteered to take them back home. I kept them in the fridge to enjoy after dinner.
When I got them out from the fridge and put a fork in... it was blocked....

I was like 'Nooo"... my lovey soft sponge's gone rock... the cream wasn't really creamy anymore.. more like butter... though the orage jelly top was sort of ... ok...

They still tasted like cake though and actually quite a nice treat after a hard day.

Next time I will make sure just to eat them immediately without putting them in the fridge.

U hu! hu! cheesecake from Pavilion in Kuala Lumpur

Fluffy cheesecake! My house mate got these sweeties from Pavilion in KL.

OK..., they look bit messy but tasted so sweet and nice. My favourite was the strawberry one in the middle.
They are small and the texture is quite light, but the cheeseness and the topping is very satisfying. Even a greedy monkey like me was happy after two cups;)

Lazy friday night dinner...Extra cruncy peanut butter

Not only is it a Mossive peanut butter, but also it's Extra crunchy. This one is real satisfaction. With every spoonful, there are chunky bits of peanuts. I have this thing.... I always eat peanut as itself, no toast or icecream. That's the best way to indulge myself after a hard and long week.

Of course, it will be nice to use this for a chunky peanut better cookies if it lasted until i get a chance to make one...

First of many: Scones

Here it is, finally I've started! The first recipe of my world of sweets project.

For my first sweets, I went for an easy opotion. Scones for the UK. This scone came out pretty much like the biscuit from the famous chicken fast food chain, K*C.

When I tucked my hands into the cool flour, butter, milk and egg, it felt so good. I realised how much I missed working with smooth, silky flour. The way they grow in the oven...it's just so therapeutic.

Where is the strawberry jam...;( I was too lazy to make one, so this time I only got cream to go with them. For creamy lover, it was just as good...

I'm thinking Japanese sweets for the next recipe.
